Compatibility

Picberry for macOS requires macOS 26 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon.

Troubleshooting details

When investigating a problem, note your Picberry version, macOS version, the steps that led to it, and the exact error message if one appears.

Common questions

My library is unavailable

Reconnect the drive containing the library. If Picberry asks for access, select Allow Access and choose the original library folder. Check that the files are available in Finder.

Previews are missing or out of date

Check that the source drive is connected and its media files are available. Picberry generates previews automatically as you browse and while the app is idle. Keep the drive connected while previews are generated.

How do I start or stop People recognition?

Select Start Recognition in People, or enable People recognition in Settings. Picberry processes photos in the background on your Mac. Turn the setting off to stop further analysis. People already found remain available.

Will removing a library delete my photos?

Removing a library from Picberry preserves original media and completed imports. It removes the library from the app and deletes its exclusive local Picberry data. Some generated files may remain on a source drive that is unavailable, read-only, or cannot be verified.

How do I copy diagnostic logs?

Open Settings and select Copy Logs. Review the file before sharing it. Copying a log does not send it automatically.
